The bookstore at Chinmaya Mission San Jose has an extensive collection of spiritual books for persons of all ages. Besides books, the store also has a wide collection of audio and video recordings of discourses by various Swamins. It has all the required textbooks for Bala Vihar classes. Popular items are short, picture books and storybooks for children to instill values and practices in a fun format. The bookstore includes spiritual books like the Bhagavad Geeta and Upanishads with commentaries by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. The store also has many books authored by various Swamins to foster devotion.
Besides books on spiritual topics, there are many Vedic chants and Prayer books accompanied by CDs. Small practical booklets in a fun to read format are also well liked by many customers and make excellent gift choices.
